CAIRO – 5 May 2022: Egypt’s Cabinet's Information and Decision Support Center [IDSC] published, on its official page on Facebook an infographic explaining that more than half of the world's languages will be extinct by 2100.

Other calculations predict that up to 95% of the world's languages may be extinct or seriously endangered by the end of this century, and the majority of threatened languages are indigenous languages, and this threat came as a direct result of colonialism that led to the decimation of indigenous peoples, their cultures and languages.
