CAIRO – 15 April 2022: Minister of Endowment Mokhtar Gomaa has been tweeting about El-Ekhteyar series that has shown events during the one-year rule of the Muslim Brotherhood and the aftermath of their ouster in three parts thus far.

Part 3, which aired 14 episodes by Friday, depicts late President Mohamed Morsi and then Minister of Defense Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

“Muslim Brotherhood Squad 95, or rather 95 Terrorism that was created by Osama Yassin as instructed by Khirat al-Shater was one of the worst terrorist crimes that were perpetrated against our nation and from which other battalions emerged, such as Hasm and others,” Gomaa tweeted about Yassin, a major Muslim Brothehrood member.

“The recordings of Khirat al-Shater’s call to Khaled Meshal prove that the [Muslim Brotherhood] group did not believe at all in a state system… These recordings prove that Khirat al-Shater was the de-facto ruler, and that Morsi was only an image that did not control things under the power of Shater and his influence in the group,” the minister said after an earlier episode that aired the phone call between Shater, a hugely powerful Muslim Brotherhood figure who is now in prison, and Khaled Meshal, a prominent leader of the Brotherhood’s offshoot in Gaza strip.

He also spoke of a scene in El-Ekhteyar where Morsi threatened that he can mobilize 30,000 supporters in two hours to take his opponents down, commenting “we realize that we were not dealing with a head of state, but with a head of a gang.”

El-Ekhteyar shows real leaked videos of members of the Muslim Brotherhood during that critical time.

“The series shows the true nature of the terrorist group and a glimpse of their plans to seize all joints of the state and control it while crushing all their opponents. It also reveals some aspects of their abhorrent racism and betrayal of the homeland,” he said.

In another tweet, the minister said “El-Ekhteyar shows the extent to which the Brotherhood and their president treated the state in thuggery, but that is their norm… It reveals their nature in real videos, which cannot be denied.”
