Egypt seeks to build database for differently-abled citizens

CAIRO - 9 April 2022: General Supervisor of the National Council for Persons with Disabilities, Dr. Iman Karim, said that Egypt is keen on developing women skills, and providing opportunities to them to assume leadership positions. 
 
She said, in statements, that the council is working to raise awareness of the rights of persons with disabilities and the role of the council in providing all services to them.
 
She pointed out that one of the important files that the council will work on is the preparation of a database on people with disabilities in cooperation with the Mobilization and Statistics Authority and the National Council for Women, explaining: "We will make sure to include people with disabilities in all walks of life.
 
Dr. Eman Karim confirmed that the Egyptian family development project is a very important project, that ensures that the Egyptian family is the mainstay of society. 
 
The project includes a mother with a disability, a wife with a disability, a son and a daughter with a disability, and this project will greatly benefit people with disabilities who are an integral part of society.
 
He pointed out that the council will seek to provide ministries and relevant authorities, coordinate with them, and transfer its experiences to them about the types of disabilities and how to integrate them into society, within the framework of this project.
