CAIRO – 4 April 2022: A group of Egyptian veterinarians visited South Sudan on Sunday as part of cooperation aiming at developing the livestock sector.

The vets met with Egyptian Ambassador to Juba Motaz Abdel Kader as well as several South Sudanese officials to discuss training on counting livestock and dealing with veterinary vaccines.

For his part, Abdel Kader emphasized the strong ties that connect Egypt and South Sudan, presenting horizons of cooperation in the field of livestock and expressing Egypt’s strong desire to cooperate with its southern neighbor in all fields.

In December, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of South Sudan, Mayek Aye Deng, received Abdel Kader to discuss ways to boost bilateral cooperation, as well as the continuation of coordination and political consultation on various regional and continental issues.

Also in December, a military plane carrying large quantities of medical and humanitarian aid took off from Eastern Cairo Air Base to South Sudan, as well as another one later in January.
