CAIRO – 29 March 2022: Some 600 apartments will be handed over to orphans once they turn 21 every year, Minister of Social Solidarity Neveen al-Kabbag said Tuesday.

The first phase of the project began by counting the children at care homes, verifying their identities and the locations of the apartments. The first group of apartments will be handed over in April, and job opportunities will be offered to those of them who have graduated.

Those who went to prison previously will be rehabilitated before they are integrated into the society. An after-care service will follow up with all those who leave care homes to make sure they are alright.
