CAIRO – 20 March 2022: Egypt strongly condemned the Houthi militia’s continuation of its despicable terrorist attacks towards Saudi Arabia, the latest of which was targeting a number of economic and civil facilities at Sunday dawn by drones and ballistic missiles.

The attacks caused material damage to some vital facilities in the Kingdom. Also, several homes and vehicles were damaged.

In an official statement, Egypt affirmed that targeting these vital and civilian facilities in Saudi Arabia is a grave escalation and a blatant targeting of the security and sovereignty of the Kingdom. It is a direct threat to security and stability in the region.

These terrorist attacks represent a flagrant violation of the principles and rules of international law, Egypt said.

“Egypt reaffirmed the close link between the security and stability of the two countries, voicing its standing by the Kingdom in the measures it is taking in the face of the continuation of these “cowardly hostilities.”

Saudi news agency SPA reported that the Iran-backed Houthis launched four attacks on facilities in Saudi Arabia causing damages of some cars. No human causalities were reported.

The attacks targeted a water desalination plant in the city of Al-Shaqeeq, an Aramco facility in Jizan, a power station in the southern Dhahran al Janub city, and a gas facility in Khamis Mushait.
