CAIRO – 10 March 2022: The Egyptian Embassy in Kyiv appealed to Egyptian citizens who are still in Ukraine to quickly communicate with the embassy even if they have no desire to leave Ukraine.

This should help them register to have their status monitored in the event of the resumption of military actions, the embassy said in a statement.

The embassy called on nationals to send their names, passport numbers, phone numbers, and addresses as well as data of their families with a soft copy of their passports to the embassy on WhatsApp.

Citizens in Ukraine should send these data to the following numbers: 00380932165877 - 00380732009984 – 00380632657845, the embassy noted.

Egypt has managed to repatriate hundreds of Egyptians from Ukraine via neighboring European countries, including Poland, Hungary, and Slovakia.

Egypt’s President Abdel Fatah Al-Sisi held a phone call with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Wednesday, where they exchanged views on the Russian-Ukrainian crisis.

The Egyptian president asserted the importance of prioritizing dialogue, Egyptian Presidency’s Spokesperson Bassam Rady said.

President Sisi also stressed backing diplomatic endeavors aimed at reaching a political settlement to the crisis, which would in turn preserve international peace and security.

Sisi thanked Putin for paving the way for the evacuation of Egyptian citizens from Ukraine.

The two presidents discussed cooperation in developmental projects, highlighting the historic firm relations between Egypt and Russia on the official and popular levels.
