Mobile licensing units

CAIRO – 2 March 2022: The Egyptian Ministry of Interior deployed a number of mobile traffic units on streets to issue licenses for citizens in a bid to reduce congestion and remove burden off citizens.

As of February 20th, the mobile traffic units were deployed in Cairo, Giza, Alexandria, Aswan and Matrouh governorates throughout the week, starting from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. every day.

The units provide the service electronically without the need of documents, and with the use of electronic payment.

As part of the procedures to facilitate the process, a hotline number (15558) has been created for citizens to request the service, in addition to an mobile application that will be available soon to request the units to come to citizens at their place of residence, as well as at industrial and educational facilities.

This comes within the framework of the Ministry of Interior's strategy, which aims to take all measures that would modernize public services.

This move also illustrates the state’s move towards digital transformation.

The mobile licensing units provide services like: (issuing driving licenses - issuing an electronic driving poster - technical examination to the vehicle – any traffic requirements).
