CAIRO - 24 February 2022: Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and  Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC) Nayef Falah M. Al-Hajraf signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on the political consultation mechanism between Egypt and GCC General Secretariat on Thursday.
 
They held a meeting during which both sides discuss the relations between Egypt and the GCC, and to exchange visions regarding the most prominent current issues in the regional and international arenas.
 
Shoukry reiterated that Egypt’s national security strongly links with the security of the Arab Gulf countries, said Egyptian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Ahmed Hafez in a statement.
 
The signed MoU contributes to strengthening political and strategic relations between the two sides, “especially during the current stage, which is witnessing unprecedented challenges that require activating various frameworks of coordination and cooperation,” said Shoukry.
 
The GCC Secretary-General highlighted the importance of the MoU in enhancing the relations and cooperation between the two sides in various fields, Hafez said.
