ISMAILIA, Egypt, Feb 22 (MENA) - Chairman of the Suez Canal Authority (SCA) Osama Rabie discussed on Tuesday with Chairman of the Saudi Public Transport Authority (PTA) Rumaih bin Mohammed Al-Rumaih ways of cooperation in maritime transport.

In a statement, SCA said the meeting comes as a part of a two-day visit of a Saudi delegation of the PTA that included visiting Port Said Shipyard, Port Said Engineering Works Company, El Nasr Floating Bridge and Ismailia tunnels.

Rabie said the Suez Canal enjoys several potentials which maximize its economic role as well as the well-experienced human cadres.

Rabie reviewed the Suez Canal's development strategy and records which had been achieved despite the coronavirus crisis, adding the canal offers incentives for cruise ships that include reducing the fees to 50% on condition that they stop at one of the Egyptian ports.

Meanwhile, Rumaih pointed out that cooperation on marine tourism is a promising domain for Egypt and Saudi Arabia in light of mega projects being established by the Kingdom on the Red Sea.

He also thanked Rabie for organizing this important visit for him to get acquainted with the canal's development strategy
