CAIRO - 18 February 2022: Egyptian Minister of Planning Hala El Saied announced, on Friday in a session on climate change, the launch of Climate Pioneers program to train 2,000 trainees on climate issues.
 
The program was launched in cooperation between the Youth Love Egypt Foundation (YLE), the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development, and the National Planning Institute, according to a statement by the YLE.
 
The program aims at training and qualifying Egyptian youth to participate in the Cop 27 summit due to convene in November 2022 in Sharm El Sheikh city.

YLE Chairperson and a member of the coordination of youth parties and politicians Ahmed Fathy has participated in the session. Fathy is also the representative of the African Alliance for Climate Justice in Egypt and a member of the Arab Youth Council for Climate Change.
 
The session titled “Inspirational Arab Youth’s Experiences in Sustainable Development” is part of the activities of the fourth edition of the Arab Sustainable Development Week.

Fathy reviewed the under-construction Egyptian Federation for Climate Change, the Green Church initiative and the Climate Pioneers Program. He also discussed the Summer School for Climate Change that is due to be held in Egypt next month, in cooperation with the YLE, the African Alliance for Climate Justice, a group of international partners, and the Ministry of Planning.
