CAIRO – 17 February 2022: Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, the official spokesman for the Ministry of Health and Population revealed that the data indicated the infections with the Omicron mutant spread among youths and children, unlike the Delta mutant.

 

He further appealed to citizens to adhere to the necessary precautionary measures to avoid the spread of the Coronavirus.  

 

He said that the number of citizens who received the first and second doses of the Corona vaccine amounted to 29,305,504 citizens, while the number of people who received only the first dose of the vaccine reached 38,839,210 citizens.

 

Regarding the date of the arrival of new shipments of Corona vaccines, he confirmed that new shipments of vaccines are expected to arrive three months from now.

 

The spokesperson also highlight the high recovery rates recorded at isolation hospitals, hitting 85 percent.

 

The total number of people who recovered from the virus has risen to 393,254, he added.
