CAIRO – 12 February 2022: Public officers who proven to be abusing drugs were used to be penalized, but after a law passed last year, any employee who tests positive to drugs will be terminated.

 

If an employee applies for treatment before being tested will not be penalized and will receive free treatment. Further, his identity and data will not be disclosed at his workplace.

 

The law, announced 60 days ago, also stipulated other strict penalties that pursue anyone who engages in cover-up. on that crime.

 

et highlights penalties for violators of the provisions of this law:

 

1. Shall be punished by imprisonment and a fine of not less than 100,000 pounds, and not exceeding 200,000 pounds, or either of these two penalties, whoever intentionally allows someone who is proven to have used drugs to occupy a position.

 

2. Anyone who deliberately cheats in carrying out the analyzes regulated by this law shall be punished by imprisonment.

 

3. Termination of service will be the punishment for any employee who refrains from conducting the analysis during the service or deliberately evades it without an acceptable excuse.

 

4. In the event that the sample tested positive, the worker shall be suspended from work for a period not exceeding 3 months or until the result is confirmed, whichever is sooner, with stopping the payment of half of the salary throughout the period of suspension from work.
