'Youth Climate Pavilion' attracts 50K visitors at Cairo International Book Fair

CAIRO – 10 February 2022: "Youth Climate Pavilion" at Cairo International Book Fair attracted more than 50,000 visitors during the 52nd edition held on January 27- February 7.

The announcement was made Thursday by "Youth Loving Egypt" Institute, which took part in the fair through that pavilion within its participation in the COP 27 to be held in Sharm El Sheikh in November.

The institute pointed out that 600 visitors took photos with environment awareness maquettes. And, even some of them expressed a desire to join the climate activities and initiatives undertaken by "Youth Loving Egypt."

As for prominent figures who visited the pavilion, those include Minister of Planning and Economic Development Hala al-Said; Minister of Environment Yasmin Fouad; Minister of Social Solidarity Nevine al-Qabaj; representatives of the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the World Health Organization (WHO) in Egypt; and, the Dutch ambassador to Cairo.

The institute delivered environment awareness lectures to the visitors at the pavilion, and acquainted them with its planned activities during COP 27. Visitors were also offered a QR code that can be scanned by the phone to learn about climate change, and ways to combat the phenomena.

"Youth Loving Egypt" equally presented its work during its participation in COP 26 in Galsgow in 2021, and the environmental programmes it has embarked on, such as Climate Pioneers, Nile Tree, and Clean Banks. That is in addition to launching the Climate Change Union, the first of its kind in Egypt.
