CAIRO- 5 February 2022: Egypt’s Sunni Prestigious Islamic institution Al Azhar expressed its  sincere solidarity and support to the Moroccan five-year-old child, Rayan, who has been trapped in a 32-meter-deep well for five days, wishing him a safe return to his family.

“We pray to God who answers the troubled if he calls Him to protect the Moroccan child Ryan, and to help the rescue forces to rescue him as soon as possible, and to acknowledge his parents, family and the world to acknowledge his return safely,” Al Azhar said in a statement.

Also, the ِEgyptian Embassy in Morocco expressed its sincere wishes and prayers for the rescue of Rayan.  In a statement published by the embassy on Friday, the diplomatic mission wished Rayan a safe return to his family.

Rayan fell in the well on Tuesday evening, since then the Moroccan authorities are working around the clock to reach the boy. They manage to provide him with water and oxygen.

Moroccan online newspaper Hespress reported that the rescue team is only two meters away from the boy, but a small rock impedes their access to him. Quoting an anonymous official, the newspaper added that this rock caused a delay in the process of reaching the child and it would take three hours to demolish it.

People in the Arab World on social media platforms created a hashtag “#Save_Rayan” praying to Allah to save him.
