President Sisi gives directives to continue work to upgrade Sharm El-Sheikh’s Ruwaisat area

CAIRO – 3 February 2022: Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi urged continuing work to upgrade Sharm El-Sheikh’s area of Ruwaisat in a comprehensive way for the benefit of inhabitants, the Presidency said on Wednesday.

The president made the remarks in a meeting with Adviser to the President for Urban Planning, Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed, and Head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority, Major General Ehab El-Far.

During the meeting, the president followed-up on progress in the implementation of several projects executed by the Armed Forces Engineering Authority nationwide.

The meeting also addressed progress in national construction projects, especially roads and axes projects. Those include the International Coastal Road from Marsa Matrouh to El-Sallum and the upgrading of St. Catherine Road and the Suez Road-Shinzo Abe Axis crossing.

The president was offered an overview of progress in efforts to restore and renovate shrines and tombs of Ahl Al-Bayt (Prophet Muhammad's family).

“Sisi confirmed that the development process shall include services and facilities surrounding the sites of the shrines, including roads, squares and entrances leading to them,” the presidency added.
