A committee was formed in charge of laying down the national strategy for producing hydrogen, the center said in a report on hydrogen Thursday.

The newly-established committee announced several projects for producing green hydrogen, green ammonia, blue hydrogen and blue hydrogen.

The report is themed "Journey of Hydrogen Since Its Discovery And Its Future Horizons."

The measure comes in line with the country's vision on becoming a regional hub for energy, according to it.

The center added that hydrogen has now a giant market with developments in its uses, on which many industries are based.

Still hydrogen is only used as a raw material for some industries including ammonia industry and methanol, it mentioned.

These industries have expensive investments and the demand is high on them, the report said.
