CAIRO- 26 January 2022: Egypt will buy air defense radars and C-130 Super Hercules planes worth more than $2.5 billion from the U.S. after the Stare Department approved the deal, the Pentagon said on Tuesday.

 

The combined deal of separate purchases includes 12 C-130J-30 Super Hercules planes and technical support for $2.2 billion.

 

Three SPS-48 Land Based Radars spares, motor generators, as well as training on the equipment are also in the sale, costing $355 million more. 

 

Lockheed Martin and  L3Harris Technologies are the prime contractors for the planes and the radars, respectively.
