US welcomes launch of Central Bank of Libya's reunification process

CAIRO - 22 January 2022: US Ambassador to Libya Richard Norland welcomed the actual launch of the reunification process of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL).


In a tweet carried by the Libyan News Agency (LANA) on Friday, Norland described the process as an important and excellent step that proves the seriousness of the Central Bank in accomplishing this work.

During his meeting with CBL Governor Saddek Omar Elkaber, the US diplomat encouraged the bank's team to abide by transparency while carrying out the reunification process.

The actual launch of the CBL reunification process was announced by Governor Saddek Elkaber and his deputy Ali Salem Alhebri during their meeting on Thursday in Tunisia.
