In a statement on Tuesday, the AL chief hailed what Hamdok has achieved during his tenure, calling on the "one nation's partners" to swiftly work on reaching a common ground that preserves the key gains achieved over the past two years.

Abul Gheit is closely following up various initiatives recently submitted by a number of the Sudanese parties and political components on addressing the challenges of the transitional period, said a source with the AL general secretariat.

The AL chief considers intensified consultations and constructive dialogue among various Sudan's sides as the cornerstone for solving the current crisis and achieving the aspirations of the Sudanese people for stability, development and democratic transition, the source added.
