Egypt records 83.3% recovery rate from COVID-19 in isolation hospitals

CAIRO- 3 January 2022: The recovery rate from the coronavirus (COVID-19) at Egyptian isolation hospitals has reached 83.3 percent, after the number of people recovering from the virus increased to 321,568 cases, according to the Ministry of Health's statement.

 Up to 100K citizens were vaccinated against Covid 19 during December through the vaccination unites located at the train and metro stations along with the unites based all over the markets, according to Spokesman for Ministry of Health Hossam Abdel Ghaffar.

He explained that this came as part of the “Together we reassure” campaign, that the ministry has launched to expand the vaccination rate among citizens.

Abdel Ghaffar also indicated that these units stationed at the subways and markets are witnessing high turnout.

Egypt’s Ministry of Health announced, Monday that the government managed to sign a contract for importing new Coronavirus oral medicine, expected to arrive in Egypt this month.

Spokesman for the and Population Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said that the international health organizations such as the US Food and Drug Administration and the European Medicine Agency approved new kinds of COVID-19 medicine including an oral administration drug where the substance is taken by mouth.

In televised statements, Abdel Ghaffar noted that the first batch expected to arrive Egypt this month.

A total of 801 new coronavirus cases were detected on Sunday, upping the total number of confirmed cases reported in Egypt since the beginning of the outbreak to 387,159, according to the Ministry of Health.

In a statement, Spokesman for the Health Ministry Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said 29 patients have died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 21,797.

As many as 436 patients were discharged from isolation hospitals after receiving necessary medical care, taking the number of recovered cases to 321,568 so far, the spokesman said.
