Egypt reports 847 coronavirus cases, 25 deaths on Friday: Health Ministry

CAIRO-  1 January 2022: A total of 847 new coronavirus cases were detected, upping the total number of confirmed cases reported in Egypt since the beginning of the outbreak to 385,575, according to the Ministry of Health.

 

In a statement on Friday evening, Spokesman for the Health Ministry Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said 25 patients died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 21,752.

 

As many as 539 patients were discharged from isolation hospitals after receiving necessary medical care, taking the number of recovered cases to 320,563 so far, the spokesman said.

 

In a Cabinet meeting on Wednesday, Acting Health Minister Khaled Abdel Ghaffar said a total of 55.6 million coronavirus vaccine doses have been administered so far.

 

He added that Egypt has been supplied with more than 119 million coronavirus vaccine doses, with about 64.3 million doses still available for use.
