CAIRO- 19 December 2021: The first three cases infected with Omicron variant and isolated in Egyptian isolation hospitals are completely stable, said Egyptian Acting Health Minister
Khaled Abdel Ghaffar on Sunday.
 
He added during the inauguration of the national campaign for polio vaccination that two cases have no disease symptoms, while the third case suffers from minor symptoms.
 
Egypt has a pre-prepared plan to deal with the Omicron mutant. “No worries about Omicron, he said, adding that Isolation and health hospitals are fully prepared for any changes that may occur due to Omicron.
 
More than 550,000 citizens are being vaccinated daily with various doses of the Coronavirus vaccine, the Acting Minister said.
 
The four-day national polio vaccination campaign was launched on Sunday nationwide. It targets vaccinating 16.5 million children (aged between one day to five years) by 45,000 teams with 90,000 members, the minister said.
