30K Egyptians, foreigners examined as part of blood glucose regulation’s campaign

CAIRO – 9 December 2021: Egypt’s General Authority for Health Care announced the end of the activities the national campaign to regulate blood glucose in Luxor Governorate, according to a statement.

 

Throughout the campaign, a total of 30,000 Egyptians and foreigners were examined, especially those with chronic diseases and diabetics, for all age groups in the southern Upper Egypt region.

  

The statement added, that during the campaign, more than 2,000 cases of diabetes or any of the chronic diseases were transferred to periodic follow-up in 49 units and centers affiliated with the authority in Luxor in order to provide them with the necessary medical and treatment care.

 

Dr. Ahmed El-Sobky, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the General Authority for Health Care, and Assistant Minister of Health and Population, expressed the authority’s interest in launching health awareness, educational initiatives and periodic medical follow-up on the ground, across all governorates as part of the implementing of the new comprehensive health insurance system.

 

Dr. Ahmed Al-Sobky pointed out that the main objective of launching and adopting health campaigns and initiatives is to provide services and integrated health care packages of international quality to all citizens, starting with enhancing awareness about the causes of diseases and the risk factors leading to them and how to prevent them, through the early examination of diseases and the speed of their treatment, especially Chronic diseases.

 

The campaign initiative was launched by the Public Authority for Health Care in Port Said Governorate, coinciding with the World Diabetes Day, for two consecutive years, and this year it extended to Luxor Governorate, where it continued its activities in Luxor until the end of November 2021.
