CAIRO- 2 December 2021: Egypt will see a major drop in temperature until December 10, said Mohamed Ali Fahim, the head of the Climate Change Information Center, Renewable Energy & Expert System (CCICRES) on Wednesday.
 
“Winter in Egypt has changed as the forecasts of climate models show that the winter of this year will be unusually cold,” he added in remarks to the Al-Watan newspaper.
 
Egypt would be hit by an Icelandic depression and see frequent rains and snowfalls, experts told other local media.
 
The Egyptian  Meteorological Authority (EMA) stated on Thursday that it is clear that there is no big differences in temperatures during the month of  December over the past five years. 
 
The EMA added that a further drop in temperature is expected, especially the minimum temperature during the coming few hours.
 
Cairo will record 22 degrees Celsius, while northern coasts are expected to record 21 degrees Celsius. As for northern Upper Egypt, this area will witness 22 degreesCelsius, and the southern area will have prevailed with a 26-degree-Celsius temperature.
