CAIRO – 30 November 2021: On the sidelines of EDEX 2021, representatives of the Arab Organization for Industrialization held talks with international companies to discuss Egypt’s leading industrial role, and enhance defense cooperation.

Kicked off on Monday, EDEX 2021 is scheduled to last until December 2.

AOI chairman Abdel Men’em el Tarras said Tuesday he is looking forward to signing partnership contracts with giant international companies concerned with advanced defense systems.

He called for exchanging visits and expertise to determine areas of cooperation and pinpoint scientific and technological solutions with regards to the defense equipment and systems.

The AOI has the biggest pavilion at the Egypt Defense Expo (EDEX 2021), which is attended by major military and defense industry firms worldwide, as well as international officials, Tarras said.

The attendees have spoken highly of the event, especially the advanced technological potentials presented at the AOI pavilion, he added.

Tarras said he had talks with Admiral Santiago Gómez, Director General of Armament and Material (DGAM) in Spain, about means of boosting bilateral cooperation and settling smart system technologies.

He also met with representatives of France’s Safran SED and discussed training of human cadres in defense industries.

Among the African high-ranking visitors of the AOI pavilion were the defense minister of South Africa and the commander of the Nigerian Air Forces, Tarras said, adding that both were pleased with AOI products shown at EDEX 2021.
