CAIRO - 29 November 2021: US Ambassador and Special Envoy to Libya Richard Norland said that the Libyans are now closer than ever towards shaping a stable future, free of division and wars.

Addressing the Libyan Youth Forum on Saturday, Norland highlighted the importance of effective youth participation in Libya's upcoming elections on December 24, given that they constitute half of the Libyan population, according to LANA news agency.

Meanwhile, UN Assistant Secretary-General Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator for Libya Georgette Gagnon stressed that the Libyan youth bear the main responsibility for maintaining security and stability in their country, since they represent the first defense line against any attempt to foil Libya's march for democracy.
