CAIRO – 21 November 2021: The authorities of Cairo International Airport foiled Sunday an attempt to smuggle €88,500 into Egypt by a passenger coming from Rome, Italy.

 

The passenger is an Egyptian national, who possessed two large suitcases, and a handbag, which aroused the suspicion of security personnel when put on the X-ray device.

 

A manual screening of the luggage was carried out so as money was found wrapped in clothes, and inserted in shoes.

 

The passenger was handed the equivalent of $10,000 allowed by law, while the rest was confiscated, while a complaint was filed.
