Prince Charles tours Greek Campus for Sustainable Markets initiative

CAIRO – 19 November 2021: Prince Charles of Wales toured the downtown Greek Campus in Cairo on Friday for the Sustainable Markets initiative.

“A historic day at The GrEEK Campus! Led by our Chairman and Founder, Mr. Ahmed El Alfi, HRHPrinceCharles toured our downtown campus for his Sustainable Markets Initiative,” the campus said on Twitter.

During his tour, the prince met emerging tech startups and corporate and institutional sustainability and climate leaders, the campus added.

Meeting with a group of Egyptian entrepreneurs, Prince Charles was keen to hear about their experiences and discuss opportunities for growing green and innovative business in Egypt.

Earlier, Prince Charles of Wales and Duchess Camilla of Cornwall visited the Sphinx and Giza Pyramids during their visit to Egypt.

“A phenomenal moment at one of Egypt’s great sites of rich ancient history,” the Royal Palace tweeted.

They also visited Al Azhar Mosque in Old Cairo where they met Grand Imam Ahmed El-Tayyeb.

The meeting tapped on harmony among teachings of different religions, and the role of religion in preserving the environment. They also discussed bolstering religious ties between Egypt and the UK.

Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla took photos at the mosque's central courtyard and in front of the mosque's cistern that was set up by Prince Taj al Din Al-Shobaki.

This is the third visit by Prince Charles to the mosque.

Prince of Wales Charles and Duchess of Cornwall Camilla arrived in Cairo Thursday after concluding their visit to Jordan as they are holding a four-day tour in both countries.

During the visit, they met with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and First Lady Entissar Amer.
