Egyptian First Lady, Duchess Camilla tackle women empowerment

CAIRO – 18 November 2021: First Lady Intissar al-Sisi and Duchess Camilla of Cornwall met Thursday at Al Itihadiyah presidential palace having a conversation on women empowerment, and steps made by the state to expand their role at the government, the parliament, and qualifying a new generation of young Egyptian women.

The First Lady also presented the state's efforts targeted at securing a decent life for all Egyptians through a series of initiatives and presidential programs.

On her Facebook page, the First Lady said, "the Duchess' words really expressed love for Egypt and happiness to visit it again in years. I wish the dear guest of Egypt to spend an enjoyable time."

Prince Charles of Wales and Duchess Camilla of Cornwall are holding a two-day visit to Egypt. After they had arrived earlier on Thursday, they met with Grand Imam Ahmed Al Tayeb at Al Azhar Mosque. Later, they have been received by President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi and First Lady Intissar al-Sisi at Al Itihadiyah Presidential Palace.
