CAIRO – 17 November 2021: Convoys of the national Tahya Misr Fund have completed for the second day to deliver food, blankets and luggage to those afflicted by recent floods in Upper Egypt’s Aswan.

Heavy rains in Aswan over the recent days have flooded streets, caused traffic congestion, destroyed numerous houses, and forced scorpions out of their nests.

Over 500 people in Aswan have been stung by scorpions and three were dead.

On Tuesday morning, the Tahya Misr convoys arrived in Aswan with around 24 tons of food, five tons of milk, five tons of canned food, five tons of vegetables, and 10 tons of chicken and meat.

Vehicles also moved 2,000 foam mattresses, 2,000 rugs, 2,000 blankets, 2,000 quilts, and 110 beds to assist families whose families were destroyed by floods.
