CAIRO - 7 November 2021: A demonstration took to streets on Sunday against the Tigray movement, prompting Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed to tweet “we stand committed to laying a solid foundation for generations to come.”

“Our beauty is in our unity. When we stand together, we can overcome anything. We stand on the shoulders of our ancestors that paid great sacrifices for us,” Ahmed tweeted.

The demonstration condemned “misleading media propaganda,” emphasizing that they would do everything to restore peace and security, according to Sky News Arabia.

The demonstrators also expressed full support for the Ethiopian army and other forces that “protect the sovereignty of the country.” The Ethiopian parliament designates the Tigray People Liberation Front (TPLF) as a terrorist group.

Twelve parties have pledged allegiance to the Ethiopian government, saying that sovereignty is unnegotiable. The politicians have accused the TPLF of committing “evil actions” that prove they “do not care about the people.”
