CAIRO - 27 October 2021: Emigration Minister Nabila Makram asserted that Egyptian nationals in Sudan are safe and sound and away from the current incidents.


In a press release on Wednesday, the minister added that the ministry’s operations room has received a number on inquiries concerning Egyptian nationals who were visiting Sudan to participate in the Khartoum International Book Fair.

She said that she contacted a member of the Egyptian delegation to the fair, Ashraf Mohamed Ahmed, who reassured her on the safety of the delegation and asserted that all members of the delegation are committed to the Egyptian state’s instructions.

The minister also said that a number of families in Egypt had contacted the ministry to inquire about their children who are studying in Sudan and the ministry said that it is coordinating with the Foreign Ministry to check on all Egyptian nationals in Sudan.
