CAIRO - 15 October 2021:  Egypt recorded 865 new coronavirus cases in 24 hours, upping the total number of confirmed infections since the outbreak in March 2022 across the country began to 315,842, said The Health Ministry in a statement on Thursday.
 

As for the number of fatalities, the Spokesman for the Health Ministry Khaled Megahed said 40 patients died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 17,846.


 
As many as 781 patients were discharged from isolation hospitals after receiving necessary medical care, taking the number of recovered cases to 266,444 so far, the spokesman said.
 
During a cabinet meeting on Wednesday, the Minister of Health Hala Zayed that a French study that was conducted for 22.6 million people -above the 50s- indicates that receiving COVID-19 vaccines reduces the risk of death or hospitalization by 90%.
 
Two days ago, the Head of the Department of Allergy and Immunology at VACSERA Amjad El-Haddad, confirmed that by the end of 2021, 70 percent of the Egyptians will be vaccinated according to presidential directives.
