Egypt records new 861 COVID-19 cases, 41 deaths

CAIRO – 14 October 2021: The Health Ministry said Wednesday night that 861 new coronavirus cases were detected, upping the total number of confirmed infections since the outbreak in March 2022 across the country began to 314,977.
 

In a statement, Spokesman for the Health Ministry Khaled Megahed said 41 patients have died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 17,806.


 
As many as 899 patients were discharged from isolation hospitals after receiving necessary medical care, taking the number of recovered cases to 265,663 so far, the spokesman said.
 
 
Head of the Department of Allergy and Immunology at VACSERA Amjad El-Haddad, confirmed that by the end of 2021, 70 percent of the Egyptians will be vaccinated according to presidential directives.
 
Dr. Amjad Haddad added in a phone call with a TV show that the health system has 15 million doses of the Sinovac vaccine awaiting their release to vaccinate citizens.
