CAIRO – 9 October 2021: Egyptian Attorney General Hamada El-Sawy launched on Saturday a strategy of digital transformation to facilitate judicial procedures for citizens.

“The digital transformation begins with the use of modern technology in dealing with and processing all data and information digitally to transform the culture of the institution, and completely change its body and mechanism of its work,” said El Sawy in his speech.

He added that the strategy aimed at facilitating and improving the General Prosecution’s work and services, speeding its implementation, combating various forms of corruption, supporting decision-making, and achieving comprehensive internal interdependence.

Egypt has taken actual steps towards incorporating digital transformation into its systems, by ending bureaucracy and corruption, and digitalizing services.

The state’s vision to achieve digital transformation is based on two axes: citizens’ services, and improving the government’s performance. That’s why there are a number of joint projects that were launched in coordination with different state entities.

President Sisi said in February 2021 that digital transformation is a major challenge in Africa and will adversely impact countries that do not seek it, calling for making the most of the digital judicial platform that was launched in previous meetings for the welfare of African nations.

The president also said that constitutions should always be reviewed and updated to keep up with challenges and a world that changes rapidly.
