CAIRO – 1 October 2021: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi inspected on Friday workflow at the Ring Road as well as a number of new roads and axes in the area around the Cairo International Airport, a statement by Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi read.

The president inspected work to develop and expand the axes around the geographic sector of the Cairo International Airport, especially the Autostrad axis.

Sisi also inspected work to expand the raise the efficiency of all internal roads of the residential districts around Cairo’s Sheraton area to ease traffic congestion and achieve smooth movement of citizens from and to the area.

The president inspected the progress of work of expanding and raising the efficiency of the Ring Road surrounding Greater Cairo, especially the sector extending from the Autostrad axis in East Cairo to the Munib area.

Expansion work has widened the sector to eight traffic lanes in each direction instead of 4 lanes, while providing it with all the necessary services.

During the inspection tour, Sisi was keen to discuss with the officials at the work sites the details of the construction steps and the timeframes of their implementation.
