CAIRO – 1 October 2021: Prosecution offices specialized in human trafficking and illegal immigration will formed at every appeal court all over the country.

Attorney-General Hamada el-Sawy issued the decree on Thursday in line with international efforts in this regard. The new prosecution offices will investigate violations to laws regulating human organ donation as well as anti-human trafficking and illegal immigration laws.

The Department of International Cooperation, Sentence Enforcement, and Prisoner Welfare at the attorney-general office will be notified of such investigations once opened to direct them in accordance with international standards and mechanisms.

The department will investigate such crimes whenever they have a transnational character anywhere in Egypt.

Egypt has exerted tremendous efforts in fighting illegal immigration in the past few years in such a way that has been applauded by many European countries.
