Egyptian President Sisi invites parliament to hold 2nd inaugural session of 1st legislative term

CAIRO- 24 September 2021: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi issued a decree to invite Egypt’s Senate (the upper house of the parliament) to hold its second inaugural session  of the first legislative term.
 
The Presidential decree has been published on Friday in the state’s official gazette Al-Waqa'i' al-Misriyya. The decision will come into force on the following day of the official publication.
 
The inaugural session is due to convene at 11:00 am (Cairo time) on Tuesday, October 5, 2021. The first regular session of the first legislative term was held October 18, 2020.
 
In another decree, President Sisi also invited the House of Representatives (the lower house of the parliament) to hold its second inaugural session of the first legislative term on October 2, 2021 at 11:00 am.
