Egypt reports 688 coronavirus cases, 24 deaths on Tuesday

CAIRO - 22 Septemebr 2020: The Health Ministry said that 688 new coronavirus cases were detected in Egypt over the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of infections to 298,296.


In a statement on Wednesday, spokesman for the Health Ministry Dr Khaled Megahed said that 24 patients have died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 17,016.

As many as 703 patients were discharged from hospitals after receiving necessary medical care, taking the number of recoveries to 251,395, he added. 

The recovery rate from the coronavirus (COVID-19) at Egyptian isolation hospitals has reached 84.3% percent, according to the Ministry of Health's statement on Sunday.
 
The Ministry of Health and Population said that according to the recommendations of the World Health Organization issued on May 27, 2020, the disappearance of symptoms for 10 days after infection is an indication of the patient's recovery from the Corona virus.
