CAIRO - 10 September 2020: Lebanon announced formation of a new government as per a decree signed between President Michel Aoun and PM-designate Naguib Mikati, in the presence of House Speaker, Nabih Berri, on Friday.

After the declaration of the new government, Prime Minister Naguib Mikati said that the government will deal with anyone for the sake of Lebanon, except for Israel, Lebanese newspaper “Al-Jadeed” reported.

“People are fed up with words and promises, and I pledge to hold the parliamentary elections on time,” he added in media remarks.

The new government includes 24 ministers, said Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Mahmoud Makkieh.

Lebanon suffers several crises on political and economic levels, especially after Beirut port explosion in August 2021 that killed at least 135 people and injured at least 4,000 others, while 80 are missing.
