CAIRO – 26 August 2021: Egypt is participating in the International Army Games in Moscow and China with four teams, said the Egyptian Ministry of Defense in a statement on Thursday.
 
Egypt has participated in Moscow-held International Army Games 2021, which kicked on August 22 to last until September 6, with the participation of more than 286 teams representing 42 countries, the statement said.
 
The games were opened by Russian President Vladimir Putin, in presence of Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, Egyptian Defense Minister Mohamed Zaki, and a number of defense ministers of the participating countries.
 
The competition also coincided with International Military Technical Forum Army 2021 in Moscow. The opening ceremony began with the announcement of the start of competitions and the forum and then followed by artistic and Russian military music performances.
 
There was a military parade of military personnel carrying the flags of all participating countries, the statement added.
 
Meanwhile, a team from the Egyptian air army participated in the Clear Sky competition of the International Army Games at the Chinese Korla, the statement said.
 
According to a statement by the Russian Defense Ministry on Wednesday, the International Army Games has started on August 22 and would last to September 4 on the territory of 11 states (Russia, Algeria, Armenia, Belarus, Vietnam, Iran, Qatar, Kazakhstan, China, Serbia, Uzbekistan).
 
“In total, more than 5 thousand military personnel, consisting of 277 teams from 42 countries, take part in 34 competitions of the Games 2021,” the Russian statement read.
