CAIRO – 22 August 2021: Serbian Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikola Selakovic said in Cairo Sunday that "in the 21st century, only strong countries will continue to exist, and that is a characteristic of Egypt, which is a great country led by a great leader."

That was during a joint press conference with Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shokry, who had earlier held a meeting with his Serbian counterpart, whereas the latter delivered a message from the Serbian president.

Selakovic stated that the Serbian and Egyptian officials will keep exchanging visits in 2021 in order to bolster bilateral relations, particularly in the investment sector, and to coordinate President Abdel Fatah al-Sisi's participation in the Non-Aligned Movement Summit to be held in Belgrade on October 11-12.

Both foreign ministers will co-chair soon the Egyptian-Serbian Joint Economic Committee, and will keep pushing forward mutual ties, which used to be very close under late presidents Gamal Abdel Nasser, and Josip Tito.

Selakovic's trip includes visits to the Grand Imam, the Pope, the Egyptian Civilization Museum, and the New Capital.
