CAIRO – 12 August 2021: Minister of Health and Population Hala Zayed announced that 100,224 citizens were vaccinated against Coronavirus on Thursday.

 

Vaccination centers witnessed a heavy turnout Thursday from citizens wishing to travel to receive the vaccine, as 56 thousand citizens took the first dose of the vaccine, and 44 thousand and 222 citizens took the second dose, said Khaled Megahed, assistant Minister of Health.  

 

He added that vaccination centers in Giza and Cairo governorates are designated to receive travelers, and that these centers topped the highest rates of daily turnout.

 

Cairo international airport received, Monday the first patch of Johnson & Johnson Vaccine against coronavirus.

 

According to the Ministry of Health, this shipment which included 21,600 doses of the vaccine, will be will be assigned to travelers. Other shipments are to be received in the coming period.

 

Health Ministry Spokesman Khaled Megahed said the shipment will undergo tests at the labs of The Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA).

 

He noted that the specialized centers to vaccinate travelers are ready to receive those willing to get the dose and issue vaccination certificates.
