CAIRO – 4 August 2021: Commissioner of Ethiopia National Disaster Risk Management Mitiku Kassa Gutile expressed Wednesday rejection to opening routes between Sudan and Tigray region for aid delivery denouncing pressure by "some western countries and its institutions," as reported by Ethiopian News Agency (ENA).

UNICEF had warned that 100,000 Tigray children are vulnerable to malnutrition that can be life threatening over the coming 12 months.

War between the Tigray People Liberation Front (TPLF) and the federal government has been ongoing for eight months killing thousands, majorly civilians.
