CAIRO – 12 July 2021: The Egyptian House of Representatives (the lower house of the parliament) approved a bill allowing “non-disciplinary dismissal” of public servants, who were proved guilty of sabotaging act against the state.

On 6 June 2021, the Legislative Committee of the Parliament passed it bill.

The law would be applicable against public servants who were blacklisted in terrorism-related crimes. However, in case the names of those blacklisted employees dropped from the terrorism entity list, he could reinstate his governmental position.

The law targets the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood group, whose members are blacklisted by the government in charges of terrorism and sabotage acts.

The Muslim Brotherhood is outlawed in Egypt and designated a terrorist group. Late Mohamed Morsi, who was a member of the Muslim Brotherhood Supreme Guidance Bureau, had been president for one year before his regime got toppled over mass protests on July 3, 2013.
