CAIRO - 7 July 2020: Four military jets took off from Cairo heading for Khartoum carrying medicine and medical equipment presented from the Egyptian Health Ministry to Sudan to ease the burdens of the Sudanese brethren.

This comes at directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi within the framework of supporting the Sudanese people in different crises.

Meanwhile, the Sudanese side lauded the Egyptian efforts exerted to support Sudan. This comes as part of the historic ties binding Sudan and Egypt.

On Feb 7, Egypt sent a new shipment of medical supplies to Sudan as per the directives of President Sisi, the Egyptian Health Ministry announced.

According to the ministry, 32-tons of medical supplies were sent to Sudan to support its medical sector.

The ministry added in its statement that the shipment contains 16 tons of baby formula and 16 tons of medical supplies, including COVID-19 preventive gear and the medicine used in treatment protocols.

Spokesperson of the Ministry of Health and Population Khaled Meghad stated that since April 2019, Egypt has sent more than 182.5 tons of medical aid to Sudan, including 21.5 tons of medical formulas and 161 tons of different types of medicine, medical and surgical supplies, in addition to COVID-19 medical treatment protocols.
