CAIRO - 20 June 2021: President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met with Mufaddal Saifuddin, Sultan of the Indian Bohra community and his sons (Prince  Jaafar Al-Sadiq, Prince Taha Mofaddal, and Prince Hussein Mofaddal), in the presence of Mr. Abbas Kamel, head of the General Intelligence on Sunday in Cairo.
 
President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi praised the Sultan’s role in restoring a number of Islamic historical sites in Egypt including the shrines of Ahl al-Bayt (shrines of Prophet Muhammad’s relatives) and some historical Egyptian mosques, and tombs of Al-Sayeda Nafisa, Al-Sayeda Zeinab, and Al-Hussein., in light of developing the Fatimid and historical Cairo.
 
President Sisi also thanked the Sultan and the community for their charitable activities in Egypt, besides their support for Egypt’s sovereign fund “Long Live Egypt.”
 
“ The President affirms Egypt’s deep belief in the importance of interfaith dialogue among all the peoples of the world,” said Presidential Spokesperson Bassam Radi in a statement.
 
Sultan of Al-Bohra expressed his honor to meet President Sisi, appreciating Egypt’s approach under the leadership of President Sisi regarding the freedom to practice religious rites, and the peaceful coexistence of all sects.
 
Sultan Mufaddal Saifuddin also praised the recent development achievements in Egypt, besides the effective Egyptian role on the regional arena, which was recently embodied in reaching a ceasefire agreement between the Palestine and Israel, as well as the Egyptian initiative for the reconstruction of Gaza. He also praised Egypt’s continuous efforts to support efforts to reach a political settlement to the Libyan crisis.
