CAIRO - 5 June 2021:  The Egyptian Naval Forces and their French counterparts carried out joint naval exercises in the Mediterranean, with the participation of the Egyptian frigate (Sigma Port Said, which is Gowind 2,500-ton corvette that was built locally by Alexandria Shipyard) and French frigate La Fayette, said Egyptian Ministry of Defense in a statement on Saturday.
 
The naval maneuvers included an air defense exercise, tactical exercises for the use of armed forces with naval units, and electronic warfare exercises. The two sides also carried out an exercise on maritime security operations against surface and air threats.
