CAIRO – 5 June 2020: EgyptAir urged its passengers willing to travel to the UK to provide a negative PCR test carried out within 72 hours while undergoing two other PCRs in their second and their eighth day after the arrival.
In a press release on Friday, the national carrier said that only those who have the right of residence in the UK will be able to travel.
It added that passengers have to reserve health isolation measures at an approved hotel in the UK before traveling via the link (https://quarantinehotelbookings.ctmportal.co.uk/).
It also urged them to fill out the PLF application to register their information.
While those willing to travel from the UK to Egypt must provide a negative PCR test carried out within 96 hours. The new measures will be effective starting June 8.
It should be noted that Egypt has 861 new coronavirus cases were detected on Friday, upping the total number of confirmed cases since the outbreak in the country began to 266,350.
In a statement, Spokesman for the Health Ministry Khaled Megahed said 46 patients have died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 15,268.
As many as 781 patients were discharged from isolation hospitals after receiving necessary medical care, taking the number of recovered cases to 195,072 so far, the spokesman said.
For five consecutive days, Egypt has reported a number of new coronavirus cases that is below 1,000 for the first time since April 26.
